Dabei verbindet sich der Dienst mit dem Computer des Surfers und versucht Sicherheitslücken aufzuspüren. Anschließend gibt die Maschine Empfehlungen, welche Symantec Software vor den entdeckten Löchern schützen würde.

langsam ensteht ein online nachshlagwerk für Quicktime (und damit auch für streaming)

iThink iWant one 4 Xmas... firewire, 5GB, bootable, so gross wie ein kartenspiel (10 x 6 x 2 cm ), but:iPod to Mac transfer won't work!

Warning: Peak may erase files from your drive;
BIAS explains how to prevent this

The flaw is in the routine which deletes temp files when the program terminates. The flawed routine deletes files that are not temp files, such as applications and documents which are unrelated to Peak:

"BIAS has recently identified a serious problem that may result in deleting files. The problem may occur if earlier versions of Peak are launched after first launching Peak 2.6, 2.6.1, or 2.5.7 full or trial versions.

To avoid the problem, please remove all copies (including trial versions) of Peak 2.6, 2.6.1, and 2.5.7 from any and all hard drives, delete Peak preferences and shortcut files from within the System folder's Preferences folder, and download either Peak 2.5.8 or 2.6.2 from here."

noch vor Weihnachten auf dem Markt - 2000$
Hitachi wird auf der IFA in Berlin eine neue "Wireless Internet Appliance" vorstellen. Der tragbare Computer kann bequem am Gürtel befestigt werden, Maus wird in futuristischer blau-chrom Ausführung mitgeliefert und der Monitor befindet sich in einer Art Brillengestell. In Zukunft wird man sich wohl in der Wiener U-Bahn wie im, aus den Star Trek Filmen bekannten, Borg- Würfel fühlen.

Die "Wearable Internet Appliance" besteht aus zwei Teilen: Einerseits aus einem 128 Megahertz schnellen Computer, der in einer 230 Gramm leichten Box untergebracht ist und mittels Gürtelclip am User befestigt werden kann. Der SVGA-Monitor ist an einer Art Brillengestell mit Kopfhörer befestigt und kann wahlweise über das linke oder rechte Auge geklappt werden.

Hate Microsoft? Despise Word? Still have to open and read the stuff? Here's the Programm 4 U : icWord. It uses a lot less disk space than MS Word, and from a 1/4th to about the same amount of RAM. It is just about fully wisywyg, but you have to export the text to another programm if u want 2 edit it! More info and downloads at Tucows
